
Catrin Lewis Defis is a Welsh-speaking, award-winning drama producer with more than 30 years experience across scripted high-end television and independent film. Beginning her career as an Assistant Director, she progressed through the ranks to become a highly experienced Line Producer, developing exceptional expertise in budgeting, scheduling and delivering ambitious, high-quality productions to the screen.
Catrin recently produced BELIEVE ME, the haunting true-crime drama following the victims of ‘black cab rapist’ John Worboys as they take on the authorities who failed them in a fight for justice. Written by Jeff Pope for ITV Studios, the series stars Daniel Mays and Aimée-Ffion Edwards, and is directed by Julia Ford.
Catrin produced two series of the bilingual crime drama BANG, winner of the BAFTA Cymru Award for Best TV Drama, as well as Best Drama Series at the Celtic Media Festival and a Bronze Medal at the New York Festivals TV & Film Awards. Writer Roger Williams was also nominated for a Writers’ Guild Award for the series.

Pete McTighe for Little Door Productions, BBC and Lionsgate; HOLLINGTON DRIVE, written by Sophie Petzal, starring Anna Maxwell Martin and Rachael Stirling for West Road Pictures, ITV and All3Media; and the ten-part epic drama THE WINTER KING for Bad Wolf, based on The Warlord Chronicles by Bernard Cornwell, developed and written by Kate Brooke and Ed Whitmore, and directed by Otto Bathurst and Farren Blackburn. The series premiered on MGM+ in the United States and ITVX in the UK.

Chris Chibnall, starring Olivia Colman and David Tennant; DOCTOR WHO and TORCHWOOD by Russell T Davies; and Oliver Goldstick’s THE COLLECTION directed by Dearbhla Walsh for BBC Studios, Amazon UK and PBS Masterpiece.
Her films for television include A POET IN NEW YORK starring Tom Hollander, directed by Aisling Walsh; and the BAFTA Cymru Award-winning SHIRLEY, directed by Colin Teague starring Ruth Negga.
Catrin’s feature film credits include the BAFTA Cymru-winning LAST SUMMER, written and directed by Jon Jones; and ETERNAL BEAUTY, directed by Craig Roberts, starring Sally Hawkins and David Thewlis.
Catrin is a founding member, trustee and treasurer of the Mark Milsome Foundation, and also serves as a committee member of Screen Craft Guild Cymru.
